General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named the most difficult areas at the front
In Ukraine, the situation is difficult along the entire frontline, with fighting of varying intensity, so it would be unfair to single out one difficult area. However, the situation is very tense in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Toretsk and Kupyansk sectors, near Chasiv Yar and Vovchansk.
This was stated by Brigadier General Andriy Hnatov. Since 24 June, he has been in command of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops. In an interview with Glavkom, the military said that the Russian army is throwing all available means to break through our defences.
"The situation can change very dynamically, depending on how the enemy will pull up its reserves, increase its offensive efforts, and how much means we have to deter it," he said.
In general, the situation is developing dynamically along the entire frontline, and it is difficult to make predictions.
"We are repelling attacks and preparing to repel them in all areas. Including those where the situation is relatively calm today, but this does not mean that the enemy will not increase its offensive efforts there in some time," Hnatov added.
When asked whether there is a threat of encirclement of our units in Donbas, he replied:
"There are no operational or even tactical encounters, where it would mean that a large unit (for example, a full battalion) could be surrounded in the sense in which this concept should be understood - with an external and internal blocking ring - there are no such situations.
There are some, in my opinion, speculative views on the situation when the enemy has appeared on the flank with certain forces, and they are already starting to sound the alarm, saying that "we are surrounded". This situation is threatening, but it is not encirclement in the classical sense."
