Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate first use of German Skynex air defence system
For the first time, the Ukrainian military demonstrated the use of the German Skynex air defence system in a stationary version in service with the West Command. It is capable of neutralizing a small swarm of drones in one salvo.
Spectacular footage was published on the Instagram page of the West air command. The anti-aircraft missile system is equipped with a 35-mm Oerlikon Mk3 automatic cannon, which has an effective firing range of 4,000 meters and a rate of fire of 1,000 rounds per minute.

Skynex is an anti-aircraft artillery system produced by the German engineering and weapons concern Rheinmetall. This is the latest development, introduced only in November 2021. The system is designed to defeat drones, helicopters, cruise missiles and even low-altitude aircraft in electronic countermeasures.
In the basic version it is offered on an armored wheeled chassis, but other options are not excluded (on a tracked chassis or as a stationary installation).
