Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has approved an agreement with former MP Ishchenko and his assistant

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement concluded with former MP Valeriy Ishchenko and his assistant Oleksandr Zhoha. They compensated all 20.27 million UAH of damages, and the court sentenced them to 5 years probation.

HACC made this decision on August 7.

As indicated, Ishchenko and Zhoha made a plea agreement with the investigation. They fully admitted their guilt and voluntarily compensated UAH 20.27 million in damages - UAH 18 million was compensated by Ishchenko, and another UAH 2.27 million by Zhoga. The accused also pledged to transfer UAH 5 million for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“To approve the plea agreement of June 5, 2024 in criminal proceedings, concluded between the SAP prosecutor and the accused in these proceedings (Ishchenko - ed.), with the participation of a defense attorney, as well as the accused (Zhoha - ed.) with the participation of a defense attorney,” the decision says.

The court found Ishchenko and Zhoha guilty of abuse of office. They were sentenced to 5 years of suspended imprisonment with a ban on holding positions related to the performance of organizational and administrative functions in legal entities of public law for a period of 3 years, with a fine of 17 thousand UAH. The accused were released on probation for three years.

They were also assigned the following duties: to periodically appear for registration with the authorized probation body; to inform the authorized probation body of any change in place of residence or work; not to leave Ukraine without the consent of the authorized probation body.
