Shooting in Ternopil region: new details revealed online

New details are being published online about yesterday’s shooting in the Ternopil region, where a soldier left his place of service, came to the center of a village and opened fire on people, killing two women.

According to local media, the tragedy occurred on Dobrovody Village Day. In honor of the holiday, rides for children were installed at the local club, and it was there that the shooting occurred.

"We heard shots. One man (who was later wounded) decided that it was probably a joke and went to see. At that moment, someone pinned her (the relative) to the ground and shouted: "Run, someone is shooting!" Panic broke out around her, people grabbed their children and ran away. She ran towards the cemetery and on the way met a woman (who later died) returning home with her daughter. A soldier was also heading towards the cemetery and was shooting at everyone. Someone said that he had two magazines with bullets," said a local resident.

The shooter was stopped by two men when he walked 2 km away from the shooting scene. Law enforcement arrived shortly after.

"A woman, a mother of two children, a widow, died. She was returning home with her children - Mariya Malshevska, she became the first victim. She was shot in front of her children. The second victim was Olha Zremyak," the woman shares the information.

Another man was shot in both arms, and a woman in the stomach.
