Today, electricity consumption restrictions will be in effect from 16:00 to 24:00

"Due to the growing volume of capacity deficit in the energy system, today from 16:00 to 24:00 restrictions on consumption will be introduced for all categories of consumers, with the exception of critical infrastructure and enterprises that pay for more than 80% of imported electricity for their needs."

This was stated in a message from the press service of Ukrenergo.

The deficit in the power grid is growing due to increased electricity consumption caused by hot weather in most regions of Ukraine, the transmission operator explains.

Thus, on Wednesday, August 21, as of 9:30, the level of electricity consumption was 1.1% higher than the previous day.

And yesterday, August 20, the maximum consumption was 2.2% higher than on the previous working day – Monday, August 19.
