On August 24, the latest Ukrainian development, the Palyanytsya drone missile, was used in combat conditions for the first time in Ukraine. It will become an important tool for destroying the enemy’s offensive potential.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also published a video with "Palyanytsya", demonstrating some characteristics of this development.

"During two and a half years of full-scale war, Russia has carried out about 10 thousand attacks on Ukraine with missiles of various types and dropped more than 33 thousand CABs. The attacks on our cities can only be stopped by destroying the carriers of these weapons - Russian aircraft at military airfields. Yesterday, the first successful combat use of our new weapon took place - the Ukrainian long-range missile-drone "Palyanytsya". It was developed by our specialists to destroy the enemy’s offensive potential," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy assured that the number of drone missiles will grow, as will the production of our own long-range attack drones, which demonstrate impressive results every day.

"Palyanytsya" has become another development in the arsenal of Ukrainian weapons, which are produced in Ukraine and bring closer the liberation of our territories from the enemy.

Western partners do not yet allow the missiles transferred to Ukraine to be used to strike military targets on Russian territory, so Ukraine has had to look for other ways to strike enemy military airfields from which bombers and missile carriers take off.

To expand domestic arms production, a state grant program for private missile projects was introduced, and state design bureaus received significant investment. Deregulation was also carried out to stimulate the industry.

"And here are the first results. Meet "Palyanytsya" - a Ukrainian long-range missile drone. Almost all the details about it are classified, but some things are still known," says the video published by the president.

In particular, it is known that the range of "Palyanytsya" covers about two dozen Russian military airfields. It is launched from a ground platform. The drone rocket has a turbojet engine, and its cost is significantly lower than that of Western analogues. The developers are also working on further reducing the cost and scaling up production.

However, neither the combat radius of the drone missile, nor its warhead, nor the manufacturer are disclosed.

The development was completed "phenomenally quickly": in just one and a half years. For this, as the video says, everyone involved in the development had a strong motivation - to protect the lives of Ukrainians by destroying the enemy’s offensive potential while still on its territory.
