Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced in the Kursk region, but fighting continues – ISW
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue operations in the Kursk region, moving deeper into Russian territory. Recently, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters have made some progress in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian troops have occupied territories southeast of Durovka (east of Korenevo) and along road 38K-030 southeast of Korenevo itself, according to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War.
According to preliminary information, Russian troops retreated from positions in Malaya Loknya (northwest of Sudzha), which is consistent with preliminary Russian statements that a group of occupiers tried to hold their positions within Malaya Loknya.
Fighting also continued in the Korenevo and Sudzha directions, especially in the area of Cherkasskoye Porechny and Martynovka (northeast of Sudzha). Units of the Russian 56th Airborne (VDV) Regiment (7th VDV Division), 11th VDV Brigade, 810th Marine Brigade, 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment (72nd Motorized Rifle Division, 44th Army, Leningrad Military District) and the Chechen special forces "Akhmat" continue their operations in the Kursk region.
