State Bureau of Investigation has announced suspicion to the former deputy from the "Party of Regions"

«Between 2011 and 2018, he received income abroad totaling more than 387 million UAH. The deputy did not pay personal income tax and military levy from these funds, amounting to a total of 71.4 million UAH», the statement notes.

It is noted that the member of parliament of the I, III-VII convocations, who was previously the deputy head of the "Party of Regions" faction and the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, is charged with tax evasion, which led to the non-receipt of significant amounts of funds to the budget (part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He faces punishment of up to three years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As reported, in August last year, the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, conducted searches at the places of residence and work of former member of the Ukrainian parliament, ex-deputy head of the banned "Party of Regions" faction in parliament, Makeyenko.

Law enforcement officers were checking his involvement in the legalization of income obtained through criminal means amounting to more than half a billion UAH.

Also, an investigation on tax evasion from 2011 to 2014 was initiated against the ex-deputy.
