This year, taxes will be increased "retroactively" – MP

Taxes this year will be increased retroactively from October 1. And the law on the increase will not be passed until mid-October.

This was reported by People’s Deputy Zheleznyak, citing a report from the Ministry of Finance.

The Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada reconsidered the government bill on tax increases for the second time during the first reading. The vote is scheduled for the coming days. We remind you that last time there were not enough votes for its adoption.

The current version remained unchanged, only the increase in tax on banks was added:

- increase in the military levy from 1.5% to 5%;
- tax increase for the 1st-2nd group of sole proprietors;
- advance payments at gas stations;
- 1% of all forms of the 3rd group of sole proprietors;
- 25% profit tax for financial institutions;
- 50% profit tax on banks in 2024.

The tax increase is expected to bring an additional 58 billion this year and another 137 billion next year.
