New data on the consequences of the occupiers’ attack on infrastructure in Sumy has appeared

On the night of September 17, Russian forces attacked the cities of Sumy and Konotop. As a result of the enemy assaults, two large electrical substations caught fire in the regional center, one of the city’s dacha communities was also affected, and a meatpacking plant caught fire in Konotop.

Both towns experienced problems with electricity and water supply, and communication is also absent. This was reported by Radio Liberty and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to Radio Liberty, local residents in Sumy heard more than 10 powerful explosions during the night. As a result of the enemy attack, fires broke out at two large electrical substations.

"I drove around the city, several traffic lights are working. There is no electricity, communication is also absent. Water is supplied to the 5th floor more or less normally, but with low pressure. Trolleybuses are not running. As far as we know, no people were injured," a correspondent from the publication described the situation in Sumy.

Additionally, one of the dacha communities in Sumy came under enemy fire.

"As a result of the attack, a dacha building was destroyed. According to preliminary information, no people were injured," reported the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

They also demonstrated the consequences of the Russian attack on the dacha community.

Half an hour before the attack on the regional center, Russian forces also struck Konotop. A hit was recorded at a meatpacking plant, where a fire broke out. According to Radio Liberty, there is no light or communication in the city.
