The Verkhovna Rada increased defence spending by half a trillion hryvnias

According to his data, the project No. 11417 was supported by 298 deputies.

As clarified by the People’s Deputy Iryna Herashchenko, the law adjusted the expenditure part of the state budget by 434.6 billion hryvnias.

In particular, expenditures on certain budget programs increased by 500.3 billion hryvnias (of which 495.3 billion hryvnias are for the security and defense sector) and expenditures were reduced by 65.7 billion hryvnias.

Thus, the total expenditures of the state budget will amount to 3 trillion 737 billion hryvnias, revenues - 1 trillion 911 billion hryvnias.

Defence expenditures were the main priority of the 2024 budget. In the current budget, they amounted to 1 trillion 693 billion hryvnias.
