TRC mobilizes workers of metallurgical enterprises instead of looking for evaders

Business associations are appealing to the government of Ukraine to develop and approve an effective economic reservation mechanism in the context of worker mobilization.

"The TRC is not looking for those who evade, but comes to the enterprise, stands at the checkpoint, and fulfills the norm for 2-3 months within half a day," emphasized the president of OP "Ukrmetalurgprom" Oleksandr Kalenkov.

Despite the fact that all enterprises of the association are recognized as critically important for the economy, on average 20% of their workers have been mobilized. For example, at the ArcelorMittal plant in Kryvyi Rih, 3.5 thousand workers have already been mobilized, and at Metinvest’s enterprises, about 10 thousand workers have been mobilized, noted Kalenkov.

"Our enterprises create many jobs in other industries and regions. One job in our field generates eight in other fields," he added.

Moreover, according to the first deputy general director of "Interpipe" Denys Morozov, an industrial company can reserve only up to 50% of workers, which complicates activities.

Entrepreneurs called on the government to develop such a reservation model that would consider the economic specifics of businesses, as they are different for everyone.

"Any approach that takes wages into account is also a controversial solution," believes Oleksandr Kalenkov.
