Military conscripts who have not updated their data are wanted by the police, — TRC

Persons liable for military service who have not updated their military registration data or do not have military registration documents are violators of military registration rules. Such individuals are wanted by the police.

Details on how TRC (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center) workers identify people who have not updated their military registration data became known from an interview with "Western Courier" given by Andriy Moroz, Acting Deputy Chief of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional TRC and SS.

How military registration violators are identified

Many persons liable for military service have updated their military registration data. However, there are those who have not. They automatically became violators of military registration rules and are subject to administrative liability, according to the Ivano-Frankivsk TRC.

"These citizens are wanted by the police. Our workers identify them daily during notification measures and hand them over to the police," noted Andriy Moroz.

According to him, violators of military registration are also those liable for military service who do not have military registration documents. There is also a category of individuals who are entitled to a deferment from service but for some reason have not updated their data.

"Those who have military registration documents of an unidentified format are also considered violators. There are quite a few such people. All of them are wanted and are identified by our employees daily. We hand them over to police representatives, and they are held administratively liable," said the Acting Deputy Chief of the Ivano-Frankivsk TRC.

Afterward, the TRC updates all the individual’s data, and if they are subject to conscription and mobilization, they automatically undergo a military medical commission.

"If a person’s health condition allows them to serve in the military and they do not have the right to a deferment, they are immediately assigned a training center and subsequently a unit where they will serve," added Andriy Moroz.

Updating military registration data

Law №10449 on mobilization, which came into force on May 18, and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution №560 from May 16 have somewhat simplified the work of the TRC, noted Andriy Moroz.

"The most useful innovation is, of course, the updating of military registration data. Now we have current data on persons liable for military service, their place of registration, and phone number. Many were registered at one address but lived at another. Thus, we could not serve them summons because we did not know their whereabouts," he explained.

Changes in the legislation allow the TRC to collect current data on persons liable for military service and enter it into the "Oberih" system.

"Now we understand where a person lives, how to contact them, and where they work," noted the Acting Deputy Chief of the Ivano-Frankivsk TRC.

From May 18, 2024, men aged 18 to 60 must always carry their military registration document in paper or electronic form (along with an identity document) and present it upon request by the TRC, police, or border guard.

Those who have not updated their military registration data by July 16, 2024, still have to do so. Ignoring this requirement will result in a fine.
