The situation in Selydove has entered a critical stage.

This was reported by Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko on the air of "Radio NV".

"The enemy has entered directly into the city. It is also important to note what is happening around the city. How the logistics of the units will be ensured. The situation in this regard is deteriorating, the encirclement around the city is being strengthened, they are targeting logistical routes. Thus, the prospects for the defense of the city are unfavorable," the expert noted.

He also added that most likely, the Defence Forces will have to leave their positions in the city to save the lives of Ukrainian defenders. At the same time, the general reported on the enemy’s further intentions in the Donetsk region.

"After they launched an offensive on Pokrovsk more than a month ago and were repelled. They regrouped and focused on the southern flank from Pokrovsk - that’s Vuhledar, Kurakhove, and further towards Pokrovsk. Unfortunately, they managed to capture Vuhledar. They are now advancing, and the greatest activity is noted near Kurakhove. Their plan and main goal remain unchanged - that is Pokrovsk," Romanenko added.
