The SSU and the National Police dismantled 4 more schemes for evaders

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have stopped four more schemes to evade mobilization, which were operating in different regions of Ukraine. Among those detained are officials from medical-social expert and military-medical commissions (MSEC and MMC) and the owner of a private educational institution, where a grenade launcher was found during searches.

In the Telegram channel, the SSU reported on Friday that as a result of comprehensive measures in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Rivne, Kirovohrad, and Lviv regions, the organizers of the machinations were detained.

"The figures include officials from MSEC and military-medical commissions, as well as the head of a private university and repeat offenders. For amounts ranging from $5 to $20,000, they helped conscripts avoid drafting based on forged documents," the report states.

In particular, in the Kyiv region, the deputy head of an MMC in one of the districts was caught falsifying medical conclusions regarding unfitness for service due to health for evaders.

According to the investigation, the official was part of a criminal group that was engaged in schemes for evaders, which law enforcement neutralized in April of this year.

In the Kharkiv region, according to the Ukrainian special service, SSU military counterintelligence detained the head of the MMC in Chuhuivskyi district, who was selling fictitious medical certificates for removing evaders from military registration.

Also, as reported by the SSU, in the Lviv region a scheme operating in one of the private universities was uncovered.

"According to available data, the university owner and the rectorate enrolled draftees beyond the licensed annual volumes approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. This allowed those subject to conscription to arrange deferments based on ’student’ certificates," the message specifies.

The SSU emphasizes that during searches at the university owner’s premises, an anti-tank grenade launcher, rifles, carbines, and almost 5,000 rounds of various calibers were found.

The owner of the private university has been detained and taken into custody.

In addition, in the Kirovohrad region, two repeat offenders selling fake disability certificates to evaders were detained. The perpetrators used personal connections in the MSEC for document forgery.

"In the Rivne region, five more participants in a corruption scheme avoiding conscription, which was eliminated by law enforcement in October of this year, received suspicion notices. The figures include an MSEC official, the head of a department of a local hospital, and two doctors," the special service informs.

For all revealed facts, the offenders have been notified of suspicion (in accordance with the committed crimes) under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of Article 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations), part 3 of Article 332 (illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine), part 3 of Article 358 (forgery of documents, seals, stamps, and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps, committed repeatedly), part 1 of Article 366 (official forgery).

Comprehensive measures were undertaken by SSU officers in Kyiv and Kyiv, Rivne, Kirovohrad, and Lviv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Svyatoshynskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv, Kharkiv Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Eastern Region, and the Lviv, Rivne, and Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
