Judge Smyk lifted the arrest on the property of Rabinovich, who is accused of treason

In the case of the accusation of former MP from OPFL Vadym Rabinovych of state treason, an unexpected turn occurred. Part of the property of the ex-deputy’s family, which was arrested in August 2023, became free by mid-October 2024.

According to «Glavcom», citing court register data, Svitlana Smyk, a judge of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv, who is considering the indictment against Rabinovych, canceled the arrest of three residential houses with a total area of 1.1 thousand square meters in Kyiv and three land plots with a total area of 4.9 hectares. These objects belonged to the accused’s wife, Irina Rabinovich, until April 2023. Then she transferred them to her LLC "Alice Production," which she later alienated. In general, the transfer of the Rabinovych family’s assets occurred a few months before the ex-deputy was suspected of state treason.

In court, the attorney for LLC "Alice Production" noted that the mentioned real estate was arrested to ensure the confiscation of property as a form of punishment in case of Vadym Rabinovych’s conviction. However, currently, this real estate has no relation to the accused. Continuing the arrest would cause significant losses to LLC "Alice Production" and violate its constitutional right to free ownership, use, and disposal of property.

Vadym Rabinovych’s defence did not object to the lifting of the arrest, but the defence attorney did not appear at the court session and submitted a written statement instead. However, the prosecutor disagreed with this.

Judge Smyk, canceling the arrest of the three houses and three land plots, concluded: in March 2018, a marital agreement was signed between Vadym and Iryna Rabinovych. The document stipulates that the property acquired by the wife before marriage (i.e., before June 1, 2007) is her private property; property acquired by the couple during the registered marriage is the personal property of the spouse in whose name such property was registered.

A week after the arrest was lifted, three land plots of LLC "Alice Production" (two in the city center, and the third in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region) were transferred to the companies "Maura" and "Stenton."

As for the case of Vadym Rabinovych itself, it has been heard in the Pecherskyi District Court since March 2024. The next hearing is scheduled for February 2025.
