A bill proposing the liquidation of medical-social expert commissions was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. The document was prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers.

This is reported with reference to the bill card.

According to the Rada’s website, the bill has already been sent to the committee on national health, medical care, and health insurance for consideration.

The initiative proposes, in particular:

  • to replace the system of medical-social expertise with an assessment of an individual’s daily functioning, which will facilitate a more effective medical expertise process;
  • to establish that the assessment of an individual’s daily functioning is conducted by appropriate expert commissions formed in healthcare institutions;
  • to specify the list of functions of expert commissions, including, in particular, the determination of the disability group, referral for additional examination, and planning and conducting re-examination.
