In Kyiv, electricity will be preventively turned off during the threat of a missile strike by Russia
This was stated by the CEO of Yasno, Serhiy Kovalенко.
Kovalенко explained that the power grid system operates as a sequential chain, and if one of the links fails, it can lead to overloading and damage to equipment at substations or power plants.
He also reminded that usually, it is possible to adjust the generation volumes with the help of TPPs and CHPs, but in the summer, shelling significantly damaged thermal generation, so other facilities are used for maneuvering.
In response to the question of whether power outages will occur every time there is a threat of a missile strike, Kovalenko replied that such measures will be taken when necessary for the safety of the power system.
Let us remind you that this morning emergency shutdowns were applied in a number of regions, mainly those serviced by DTEK.
