People’s Deputy of Ukraine Shevchenko is served a notice of suspicion of high treason

Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, a Member of Parliament of Ukraine has been notified of suspicion of treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the elected official systematically in his speeches and interviews publicly disseminated narratives of the aggressor state. By distributing specially selected information and using various forms of manipulation, he voiced distorted facts about Ukraine’s foreign and domestic political course, influencing the consciousness and opinions of citizens.

The suspect posted statements on social networks aimed at harming Ukraine’s information security. He distorted facts and events, creating information occasions for anti-Ukrainian informational activities.

Through these actions, the suspect provided assistance to the aggressor state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

Currently, prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Office have served the suspect with a petition for a preventive measure in the form of detention.
