The man who was taken by the TRC stated that he "planted a bomb" in their premises

In the Volyn region, a man was detained by TRC employees, and he called the police, reporting that he had planted a bomb in their building.

According to him, he did not realize the seriousness of his actions as he was under the influence of emotions. It was only later that he understood that such statements could lead to criminal liability. As a result, the man was detained, and the court chose a preventive measure for him.

The detainee’s defender, Ruslana Tkachuk, explained that the man did not intend to commit a crime. She noted that he contacted the police due to poor treatment at the TRC.

“Initially, he was promised that he needed to update his data, but when they arrived there, he was detained and told that he needed to come to the MMC to receive a combat summons. He reacted calmly to that. However, when the events that led to the conflict situation took place, he tried to stop them somehow and, not realizing his actions, called the number 102,” she explained.

The defendant himself confirmed that he was emotional at the time of the call. According to him, he tried to stop a situation that seemed unfair to him, but without considering the consequences, he reported a bombing.

Later, realizing the seriousness of his actions, he repented. The man also has the right to a deferral from mobilization but did not have time to arrange the necessary documents.

Law enforcement demanded that the man be taken into custody, but the first-instance court assigned him a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.

The man faces 4 to 8 years of imprisonment.
