A group of men attempted to illegally enter Moldova, - SBGS

Possible border violators received online instructions for navigation from the admin of a Telegram channel.

In the Odesa region, Ukrainian border guards detained a group of men who attempted to illegally cross the border with Moldova. They tried to pass through the Ukrainian-Moldovan border at a section known as Transnistria.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine’s press service.

The border guards received a report about the movement of an unknown group towards the border from one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the detention, one of the possible violators attempted to escape but was caught by a border guard with a service dog.

The group consisted of nine men from the Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv regions. They received online instructions on the route from the admin of a Telegram channel, who was supposed to receive 120,000 hryvnias from each person on a bank card in case of a successful border crossing.

For the attempt to illegally cross the border, administrative protocols were drawn up against the men under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, and the cases were transferred to the court.
