A scandal erupted in the capital around the volunteer organization HELPER Ukraine

A scandal has arisen in Kyiv around the volunteer organization Helper Ukraine. Its leader, Danylo Shcherbakov, reported pressure.

According to him, the head of the condominium association in the building where the organization’s office is located unjustifiably turned off the video surveillance, endangering the staff and volunteer transport. He is also creating other obstacles to the organization’s work, which helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Shcherbakov described the situation on his Facebook page.

"Delinquents are creating obstacles in the work of Helper Ukraine! I ask for publicity!" noted the head of Helper Ukraine.

He emphasized that over the past years, he has received numerous threats due to his support for the Armed Forces and Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline. Therefore, according to Shcherbakov, he has become accustomed to taking security issues seriously.

However, recently the security of Helper Ukraine staff and volunteer transport has been put at risk.

"Recently, I approached the head of the condominium association ’Lazurnyi Bryz’ in Kyiv (15a Ovanesa Tumanyana St.), Valentyn Kudryavskyi, asking why he ordered the video surveillance in the building to be turned off, which monitors not only people but also the branded service vehicles of HELPER Ukraine. In response, I received an inappropriate reaction and the explanation that it was supposedly an ’order from law enforcement.’ I instructed to prepare an official request to the police, and it turned out that there were no such orders from law enforcement agencies," Shcherbakov described the beginning of the conflict.

The reaction of law enforcement, according to the founder of Helper Ukraine, was prompt: after police intervention, the surveillance cameras were immediately turned back on.

However, the mentioned head of the condominium association, according to Shcherbakov, immediately began creating other obstacles to the organization’s work.

"He prohibits branded HELPER Ukraine vehicles from entering the building’s territory, forcing them to park far away, outside the video surveillance and security zone. This not only complicates our work but also exposes volunteer transport to the risk of damage or theft. In these vehicles, we transport valuable items that are vital for our defenders on the frontline. But judging by Kudryavskyi’s behavior, he doesn’t care," Shcherbakov stated.

He appealed to law enforcement, asking them "to pay attention to this situation and influence the actions of the condominium association head Valentyn Kudryavskyi."

"We cannot allow the personal interests of certain individuals to create obstacles for the work of volunteers who help our defenders every day! Special thanks to the security guards who, understanding the importance of our work, promised to try to allow our cars, ignoring the unlawful orders. We are making this widely known! It concerns everyone!" Shcherbakov concluded.
