Situation on the front: Throughout the day, there were 147 combat clashes

The 1001st day of the large-scale war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is passing. The situation on the front remains tense. Ukrainian defenders continue to bravely defend our country’s borders.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their briefing on November 20 as of 22:00. It was noted that 147 combat engagements have occurred since the beginning of the day.

Russian shelling

The enemy launched one missile strike, 61 air strikes using 91 CABs, over 560 kamikaze drone strikes, and conducted more than 3,000 shellings of our troops’ positions and settlements using various types of weapons.

Situation on the front

In the Kharkiv direction, four combat engagements took place with Russian invaders in the Vovchansk and Starytsia areas, near Kozacha Lopan, the enemy dropped three guided aerial bombs.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy tried 23 times to displace our units from their positions near Kolisnykivka, Zahyzhove, Kucheryivka, Kruhlyakivka, and Zelenyi Hai.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked ten times, attempting to advance towards Cherneshchyna, Zarichne, and Terny. Bombers and assault aircraft were actively used on the settlements of Novoyehorivka and Zakitne.

In the Siversk direction, Russian occupiers dropped ten GABs in the Siversk area.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy dropped five air bombs in the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Lypivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted seven times to breach our defence. Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers around the settlements of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka were rebuffed five times by our defenders. Two attacks are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy is intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders. Throughout the day, the aggressor launched 33 assault and offensive actions. The most activity by Russian occupiers is observed in the areas of the settlements of Myroliubivka, Pustynka, Promin, Krutyi Yar, Krasnyi Yar, Lysivka, Yurivka, Zhovte, Petrivka, Dachenske, Novoolkseivka, Hyhorivka, and Pushkine.

Twenty-two attacks in this direction have already been repelled by the Ukrainian defenders, with eleven more engagements ongoing.

In the Kurakhiv direction, at this point in time, 23 combat engagements are reported. Invaders maintain high activity, trying to advance in the areas of Berestky, Zorya, Sonstyka, Maksymilyanivka, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Antonivka. The Defense Forces units repelled seven enemy attacks, with 16 attacks ongoing. Settlements of Ulakla and Andriivka suffered aviation strikes with guided bombs. Meanwhile, in this direction, the Defence Forces neutralized 127 occupiers, including 59 irreversibly destroyed. One tank, nine armored fighting vehicles, two units of motor transport, and seven units of motor equipment were destroyed.

In the Vremivka direction, 28 engagements occurred. Five enemy assaults have already been halted by our defenders in the areas of Trudove, Kostyantynopolske, Rozdolne, Velyka Novosilka, and Novodarivka. Fierce battles continue to this time. The enemy also actively used aviation in the area of Oleksiivka and Novodarivka, dropping eight guided aerial bombs.

In the Orikhiv and Hulyaipole directions, the enemy did not conduct active actions today.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, our troops repelled five attacks by Russian occupiers.

In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue operations. The enemy’s aviation continues strikes with guided bombs on Russian territory. Currently, 20 air strikes with the use of 33 GABs are known. On other directions, there were no significant changes in the situation.

At the same time, the enemy launched air strikes on the settlements of Myrolyubivka, Sukha Balka, Stara Mykolaivka, and Lysivka, dropping a total of 15 guided bombs.

The situation is difficult, but controlled by the Defence Forces. Our soldiers are striving to prevent enemy progress into the depths of Ukrainian territory. According to the available information, today’s enemy losses on this direction amount to 223 personnel, including 91 irrevocably. One APC, four vehicles, two BMPs, and three buggies were destroyed. Additionally, a mortar and an armored personnel carrier of the occupiers were damaged.
