NABU is investigating the enrichment of MP Tyshchenko: his property has been seized

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating the possible illegal enrichment of Member of Parliament Mykola Tyshchenko to the amount of more than 30 million UAH and inaccurate declaration. The property was registered under the former director of the firm-owner of the restaurant "Velur," Serhiy Vakalchuk.

This is stated in the decisions of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court and confirmed by sources of the publication "Slovo i Dilo" in law enforcement agencies.

As noted, in April 2024, the NABU began investigating the case concerning the possible enrichment of MP Tyshchenko to the amount of more than 30 million UAH and inaccurate declaration. In particular, investigators are examining facts related to Vakalchuk receiving an apartment with an area of almost 100 sq. m in Kyiv in a building on 43 Pavlo Skoropadskyi Street, where the restaurant was previously located; two land plots and a residential house with an area of 322 sq. m in Kozyn, near Kyiv, as well as a 2016 Mercedes-Benz V250 car valued at 1.62 million UAH.

According to investigators, Vakalchuk received property worth almost 9 million UAH, but its market value is even higher. An analysis of income showed that he could not afford such property. Moreover, journalists from Bihus.info recorded that MP Tyshchenko and his wife used Vakalchuk’s property.

Thus, investigators obtained temporary access to items seized by the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation during searches at Tyshchenko and his wife in the context of the case regarding an attack on a military serviceman in Dnipro. In particular, access to Tyshchenko’s mobile phones, some of which he damaged during the search; cash in the amount of 491,550 dollars and 390,100 euros, as well as an Audemars Piguet wristwatch. The NABU requested to seize this property, as it constitutes material evidence in the case. The court seized it.
