Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with a record number of drones and four "Iskanders"
During the night and morning of November 26, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled another massive air attack by the Russian Federation, during which 76 strike drones were shot down. About a hundred more drones were lost due to electronic warfare measures or flew to Belarus.
Unfortunately, there were hits, as the enemy also used ballistic missiles for strikes. Air defence operated in 17 regions, and the results of target destruction were reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The attack lasted from 7:30 PM on Monday, November 25. During this time, the occupiers launched four Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine from Russia’s Voronezh and Kursk regions. In addition, a record number – 188 Shahed strike UAVs and unidentified drones were launched from the Russian cities of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
To repulse this attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defence Forces of Ukraine were involved. As of 9:00 AM on Tuesday, the sky defenders shot down 76 enemy drones in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Rivne, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.
Additionally, 95 UAVs were location-lost, likely due to active electronic warfare countermeasures by the Defence Forces, and five drones flew towards Belarus.
"Unfortunately, there are hits on critical infrastructure objects, and due to the massive drone attack, private and apartment buildings were damaged in several regions. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries," reported the Air Force.
