The TRC in Odesa mobilized repair workers instead of allowing them to complete important work

Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov spoke about an incident when staff from the territorial recruitment center (TRC) mobilized specialists working on dismantling a 130-meter boiler pipe. Because of this, the city lost an entire day resolving the situation and returning the workers to perform critically important tasks.

According to Trukhanov, the city authorities spent significant funds on hiring a crane and narrow-profile specialists, who are scarce in Ukraine. However, when the team arrived at the site, some of the workers were detained by TRC staff. For three hours, city officials explained the necessity of these specialists’ involvement in dismantling the structure. Only after long negotiations were they able to return the people.

This situation caused significant resonance, as repair delays can affect the city’s preparation for the heating season. The city authorities appealed to central bodies to ensure a balanced approach to mobilization activities, especially in cases involving critical infrastructure.

Trukhanov emphasized that coordinated work between local and state authorities is key to avoiding similar incidents in the future.
