At the border checkpoint "Krakivets," border guards identified a fictitious couple of newlyweds

At the "Krakivets" automobile checkpoint on the border with Poland, border guards discovered a fictitious marriage between residents of Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. A 25-year-old man from Ternopil region officially married a 20-year-old woman from Ivano-Frankivsk region, who has a second group disability, in order to go abroad.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service. During the conversation with border guards, the couple claimed that they were going on a tourist trip.

However, it was later discovered that the woman is actually the girlfriend of his friend, while his real partner remained in Ukraine.

Operatives of the 7th border Carpathian detachment informed the police about the signs of a criminal offense under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine").
