MP Ustinova purchased a house in the USA for almost 15 million hryvnias

The leader of the "Holos" faction in the Rada, Oleksandra Ustinova, announced on December 6, 2024, the purchase of a house in the USA with an area of over 170 sq.m. The property’s value is almost 15 million UAH.

Oleksandra Ustinova, together with her husband Oleksiy Yatsyk, bought the house on November 26. According to the law, she had 10 days to declare it, and the information about the change in property status was published on December 6.

It is presumably a house in Texas, with an area of 173 sq.m. Its value is 14.9 million UAH, which is about 364 thousand dollars. For such a house in this state, it’s a market price. Ustinova also took a 30-year mortgage loan from DHI Mortgage-Loan Servicing for 10.7 million UAH on the day of the house’s registration.

In Kyiv, Ustinova owns an apartment of 141.2 sq.m together with her husband. On March 29, 2022, Oleksiy Yatsyk purchased a house of 321 sq.m in the USA. The daughter of the member of parliament also resides in the USA.

Neither the size of his salary nor Ustinova’s savings are declared. Since 2020, the husband of the member of parliament has refused to provide information about the size of his salary, as stated in his wife’s declaration. The 2017 declaration (at that time Ustinova worked at the non-governmental organization "Center for Anti-Corruption") included both the place of work and her husband’s earnings.

In the IT company "X.Commerce Development Center" (this legal entity has been closed now), he earned an average of about 119 thousand UAH per month. This is about 4.5 thousand dollars (exchange rate for 2017). The next year, Ustinova declared her husband’s average salary as 151.6 thousand UAH per month (equivalent to 5.1 thousand dollars).

Since 2020, Yatsyk has stopped providing data. According to information posted on his LinkedIn page, he began working in the USA (Austin, Texas) from 2019 in one of the largest companies in the industry – Adobe Systems. Yatsyk continues to work in software development.

If we assume that the husband of the member of parliament cannot disclose his salary due to a contract with the American company (the size of his salary might be a trade secret), it is difficult to explain why there is no information in the declaration about Yatsyk’s savings or the value of the real estate he acquired in the USA.
