Zelenskyy announced the establishment of a Contact Group to determine ways to end the war

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of a new Contact Group, whose goal is to develop a common position to end the war.

The statement by the head of state on this matter was made during a meeting with the candidate for Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz.

During the conversation, Merz urged the Ukrainian government to create a contact group that would include Germany, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom. These countries could «exchange views and thereby develop a common vision together with the USA».

In response, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is already working on organizing such a group.

«I support your proposal for the creation of a Contact Group. In fact, we have already organized it. The countries you mentioned are already involved, and we are also counting on Denmark as a representative of the Nordic group. We are relying on all of them, but specifically, Denmark could represent the Nordic team», – said the president.

He added that Ukraine is working to hold the first meeting of the Contact Group as early as December.
