At the front, an aerial reconnaissance soldier from the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign Den destroyed a Russian drone in the air.

During the battle, the Russian army began an assault using equipment that attempted to break through to Ukrainian positions. At that moment, Den spotted an enemy drone nearby.

“There’s some Mavic flying around and looking directly at me. So what to do? If I turn around now, it will follow me and see our position. So I decided to try to ’ram’ it: the Mavic has a ’sport’ mode. When in ’sport’ mode, it flies very fast. If it’s facing me and I’m facing it, then I have to take the risk. And it happened that we collided head-on, and this Mavic flipped over and fell down,” the soldier said.

After the ramming, Den’s drone also sustained damage: specifically, the camera was dislocated. But the soldier managed to return his drone to base.

Den is an internally displaced person from the Luhansk region, who moved to the Kharkiv region and decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine there.
