In Ukraine, the bodies of more than 500 deceased soldiers were returned

Russia and Ukraine conducted another exchange of bodies of fallen soldiers. Ukraine received the bodies of 503 deceased defenders.

This information was provided by the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on Friday, December 20.

Among the returned defenders:

• 403 soldiers from the Donetsk direction;
• 12 from the Luhansk direction;
• 57 from the Zaporizhzhya direction;
• 31 from morgues on the territory of Russia.

It is reported that the return of the fallen defenders was made possible due to the joint efforts of the staff of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Central Civil-Military Cooperation Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SSU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Human Rights Ombudsman, the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, and the Red Cross.

The bodies of the fallen soldiers will be handed over to law enforcement agencies and forensic experts for identification.
