Shmyhal: Ukraine is already producing 96% of drones for the front line

The capabilities of the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex have increased sixfold. Almost all drones for the front are manufactured in Ukraine.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, as reported with reference to his speech during a government meeting.

«In the drone segment, domestic production accounts for over 96%. Thanks to the "Army of Drones" project, more than 1.2 million drones have been purchased», — he said.

As the Prime Minister noted, more than half of the state budget expenditures this year have been directed towards defence: "literally every hryvnia collected in the country".

According to him, thanks to investments from the state and the private sector, the capabilities of the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex have increased sixfold. More than 800 state and private companies are working in the defence sector. Over a thousand samples of weapons and equipment have been approved for operation, half of which are of Ukrainian production.

«Ukraine produces more self-propelled artillery systems than any other country in the free world. The missile program has made significant progress. Ukrainian long-range weapons have been created», — he noted.

Additionally, Shmyhal reported that the so-called "Danish model" of loading the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex has been implemented. "That is, partners help Ukraine by purchasing weapons for Ukraine from Ukrainian enterprises. Nearly 1 billion dollars have been raised,» — he added.
