Zelenskyy signed a law on the right to deferment for civilians released from captivity

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved a law that provides the possibility of exemption from mobilization for civilians who have survived Russian captivity.

This information is contained in the card of the law №12104.

On November 20, the document was submitted for Zelenskyy’s signature, and on December 31, it was returned with the president’s signature.

The law exempts from mobilization individuals who have lost personal freedom (those who were captured by Russian forces) as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine. They can be called to service only by their own will.
