The situation at the front: The enemy relentlessly attacks the positions of the AFU
On the front line, there were over 180 combat encounters on January 11. Almost half of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.
What is happening on the battlefield was reported in the morning operational briefing by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They emphasized that the situation on the front remains difficult, with the enemy attacking almost continuously.
"The situation on the front remains difficult. The enemy, using its advantage in manpower and equipment, continuously attacks our positions. Ukrainian defenders steadfastly hold back the invaders’ onslaught and inflict maximum losses on the enemy. In total, 184 combat encounters were recorded over the past day," the General Staff noted.
The day before, the enemy launched one missile attack and 25 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using one missile and dropping 45 CAB. Additionally, the Russians carried out almost five thousand shellings of settlements and our troops’ positions, 167 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and they used 1,771 kamikaze drones.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, particularly in the areas of the settlements of Siversk, Nykyforivka, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka in the Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck four areas of enemy personnel concentration and an artillery system over the past day.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian terrorists unsuccessfully attempted to assault Ukrainian positions once in the direction of Kozacha Lopan.

In the Kupyansk direction, there were 18 attacks by the invaders over the day. Defence Forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions near Holubivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahennia.

In the Lyman direction, the invaders attacked our defenders’ positions 23 times. They attempted to breach our defence near Zelenyi Hai, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarychne, Hryhorivka, and in the Serebryansky Forest.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault by Russian invaders near the settlement of Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made 27 attempts to advance near the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky over the past day.

In the Toretsk direction, the occupiers stormed our defenders’ positions six times in the areas of Toretsk and Dyliivka over the past day.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 77 offensive actions by the aggressor. The enemy actively used aviation to storm Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Baranivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Zvyrove, Novoandriivka, Uspenivka, Slovyanka, and Kostyantynopolske.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainians five times in the areas of Novosilka and Velyka Novosilka over the day.

The invaders unsuccessfully tried twice to push the Defense Forces from their positions in the Prydniprovskyi direction.

In the operational zone in the Kursk region, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 18 attacks by Russian invaders over the past day, with one battle that has not ceased and is still ongoing (as of 8:00 on January 12). Additionally, enemy aviation carried out six strikes, deploying seven GAB on Russian territory.

In the Hulyaipole and Orikhiv directions, the enemy did not undertake any offensive actions yesterday.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive force formation have been detected.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy uses artillery from Russian territory to target areas of Ukrainian settlements. They conduct reconnaissance activities.
"Our warriors inflict significant losses on the occupying forces in manpower and equipment and actively undermine the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear," the General Staff emphasized.
