Ukraine wants to build CHP plants that will run on garbage
In Ukraine, plans are underway to build combined heat and power plants that will use processed waste as fuel. Communities are currently being selected for construction.
This is reported by the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development.
It is noted that the main criteria for selecting communities are a similar population size and the availability of waste processing. This will allow for the creation of a typical plant project, the capacity of which can provide heat to a relatively equal portion of the population.
According to the head of the Restoration Agency, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, there are currently two communities that are most prepared for the construction of the CHP. They are already working on the construction of waste processing plants.
«It is important for the community to engage in waste processing, and what cannot be processed will be incinerated to provide the community with heat through the future CHP», he explained.
