In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a schoolboy was killed due to an ammunition explosion

A horrific tragedy occurred in the village of Malomykolaivka, Synelnykove district, Dnipropetrovsk region. On January 11, a 9th-grade student, Stepan Sadovyi, died as a result of an ammunition explosion.

This was reported by the local publication Rudana. According to preliminary information, the teenager was near a quarry where he likely found a dangerous object.

At the scene of the tragedy, ammunition tubes were later found. The teenager sustained severe injuries but was still alive when the ambulance arrived. Unfortunately, despite the doctors’ efforts, he could not be saved. The deceased was named Stepan Sadovyi. He was buried the next day in the village of Petropavlivka.

The circumstances of the tragic incident are currently being investigated by the police of Shakhtarsk city.

It should be noted that according to the State Emergency Service, due to Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has become one of the most mined countries in the world. Approximately 156,000 sq. km of our country’s territory is currently potentially dangerous due to possible landmines as a result of Russian terror. This is about 26% of Ukraine’s total area.
