The sharp increase in strikes on targets in Russia is not related to the election of the new U.S. President Donald Trump and is part of a plan made two years ago to destroy enemy forces.

This was stated by the veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, former company commander of the Aidar Battalion, Yevhen Dykyi, in an interview on Radio NV, refuting reports that it is a "greeting to Donald Trump to show that Ukraine is not going to surrender."

"It is upsetting that some people in the rear try to connect these events either to Trump or to some historical dates. People, understand that there is a war going on. War has its own purely military logic based on how to defeat and destroy the enemy. And some people live in their own imaginary world and come up with complex constructs about what is a signal to Trump or a signal to someone else. Meanwhile, other people are fighting in a completely different - real world," Dykyi emphasized.

He noted that there is currently systematic work going on aimed at destroying the enemy through the principle of "a thousand cuts," from which the enemy will "bleed out and die."

"This is exactly what we have been systematically doing, regardless of: Trump - not Trump, January 20 - not January 20, very thoughtfully for two years already. We are waging a ’war of a thousand cuts’ with Russia... Even two years ago, when we were just starting the production of our strike UAVs, when there was a ban on using Western weapons on Russian territory, we were already compiling lists of Russian factories, prioritizing those in which we have an interest," Dykyi said.

According to him, recently, the "very significant" results of this work have become noticeable.
