How much public funding is allocated to commanders of various military branches for awarding bonuses to military personnel?
Member of Parliament Maryana Bezuhla published an excerpt from the "Disciplinary Statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding certain decisions of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, based on the available fund of financial support in amounts determined by these decisions in agreement with the Department of Social Security of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine with a list of military personnel, their positions, and bonuses".
In other words — these are the amounts of state funds allocated to commanders of various branches of the military for the awarding of bonuses to military personnel. It is noted that this is the annual bonus fund for military personnel for 2024.
Here is how the amounts are distributed:
— Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — 20 million UAH;
— Chief of the General Staff — 2 million UAH;
— Commander of the Joint Forces — 900,000 UAH;
— Commander of the Ground Forces — 12 million 600,000 UAH;
— Commander of the Air Forces — 2 million 400,000 UAH;
— Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces — 3 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of the Naval Forces — 1 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of Special Operations Forces — 1 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of Logistics Forces — 1 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of Support Forces — 1 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of Medical Forces — 1 million 200,000 UAH;
— Commander of Air Assault Forces — 1 million 500,000 UAH;
— Head of the Main Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service — 800,000 UAH;
— Commander of Drone Systems Forces — 600,000 UAH;
— Chief of the Main Command Center — 200,000 UAH;
— Rector of the National Defence University of Ukraine — 1 million 200,000 UAH.
The MP wrote that "the higher military command of Ukraine can receive bonuses of several million hryvnias". Following this, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Law of Ukraine "On the Disciplinary Statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" provides an exclusive list of incentives that apply to military personnel.
The General Staff adds that without material incentives for a serviceman — both an ordinary soldier and an officer — it is difficult to imagine any motivated army, and they believe that Member of Parliament Maryana Bezuhla created another fake about "bonuses for the military leadership".
