Russian occupiers are trying to bypass Pokrovsk and reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. There is no talk of an advance on Dnipropetrovsk region.

This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia," during a telethon broadcast.

He recalled that the Russians are attempting to capture Pokrovsk, and this settlement is located close to the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"Another matter is that they are spreading information that Russian troops will advance further into the Dnipropetrovsk region—this looks like disinformation, as they would then have to abandon their previous goal—control over the Donbas," Trehubov noted.

According to him, currently, the enemy seeks to capture the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad agglomerations from the western side, but the resources to carry out their aggressive plans are insufficient.

"Near Pokrovsk, the fact that Russian troops bypassed the city rather than stormed it is a change in their tactics, as throughout the war, the enemy tried to attack cities directly—securing the outskirts and advancing deeper. Now they have started to bypass Pokrovsk, and we associate this with a lack of manpower for storming the city," Trehubov explained.

He explained that to bypass Pokrovsk, the Russians need to advance west of the city, which means moving towards the road to Dnipro and the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"But at the moment, we do not see that their goal is to advance towards Pavlohrad or anywhere else. We see that they are trying to surround the city and fulfill their main ambition—control over the Donetsk region within its administrative borders. Despite attempts to move forward, this ambition remains unfulfilled, even considering the limited resources they have left," Viktor Trehubov assured.
