Dykyi described the occupiers’ plans after the capture of Velyka Novosilka

The capture of this settlement will not provide the enemy with a strategic advantage, the expert believes.

At the moment, the Defence Forces control about 10% of the settlement of Velyka Novosilka on the western outskirts and are conducting counterattacks there. This was stated by military expert Yevhen Dykhyi during a broadcast on "Radio NV".

"Our rear guard is stationed there, which is performing a very difficult task - with its counterattacks, it ensures the retreat of all other units," said Dykhyi.

Ukraine managed to organize the retreat of the Defense Forces from the settlement. According to him, at the moment, the main threat is to the rear guard, which continues to hold the outskirts. After all, they will have to retreat across the river, complicating the whole process.

"But what complicates our retreat — for the same reason, for the orcs, the capture of Velyka Novosilka becomes another propaganda victory. In fact, it is a small village that seems strategically located. Allegedly, capturing it would allow encircling our positions, but actually, no. Because the river needs to be crossed, and who will allow them? In fact, the capture of Velyka Novosilka becomes a tactical deadlock for them," added Dykhyi.

The expert noted that most likely, the Russians will not even attempt to cross the river, as all the bridges on it have been destroyed. Instead, in the expert’s opinion, the enemy may redirect its forces in another direction.

"They will shift them to reinforce some more important direction. Either towards Pokrovsk or Chasiv Yar. My bet is on Chasiv Yar. After all, there are reports that fresh reinforcements are being transferred there, and they have decided to press on Chasiv. And this is a serious threat, a serious risk for us," noted Dykhyi.
