The mayor of Drohobych will appeal in court the fine from the TRC for violating mobilization

«We will appeal the protocol regarding the imposed fine for the alleged disruption of the mobilization plan in court, as it is unsubstantiated, has no basis, and is generally legal arbitrariness», — emphasized the mayor.

Taras Kuchma explained that he was supposed to go to the district TRC and SS on Unity Day, January 22, but could not do so due to scheduled official events and the meeting of a fallen soldier that day.

According to him, mayors of other cities in the region (Truskavets, Skhidnytsia, Boryslav, Medenychi) received similar invitations that day. At the TRC and SS, decrees were drawn up against them for imposing administrative penalties for failing to fulfill the mobilization task and disrupting mobilization activities, according to the order of the head of the DMA. A fine of about 36,000 UAH is provided for such a violation.

Regarding Taras Kuchma, the leadership of the TRC sent a letter to the police about his forced appearance. After this, the mayor voluntarily appeared at the TRC, where he received the protocol.

He disagreed with the decision of the Completion Center, as, in his opinion, mayors do not have the authority to deliver people to the TRC, and the DMA has no right to assign mobilization tasks to city mayors.

He also clarified that his son is fighting, his brother is missing, and he fulfilled his duty to the state back in 2014.

Taras Kuchma also noted that the Association of Ukrainian Cities reacted to the situation and prepared an appeal to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
