Russia’s strike on Sumy: two married couples who were peacefully sleeping were killed
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that it is a "horrible Russian crime." Among those affected by the strike on the multi-story building is an 8-year-old girl.
On the night of January 30, the Russian armed forces attacked Ukraine using UAVs. One of the enemy drones hit a multi-story building in Sumy. The Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that an investigation is being conducted into the commission of war crimes that led to the death of people.
According to the investigation, Russia used methods of warfare prohibited by international law. At approximately 00:20, the enemy attacked a 10-story residential building with a drone in one of the districts.

As of 8:00 AM, it was known that a 74-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife had died. The body of another deceased person was being extracted from the rubble.
The number of injured as a result of the attack is 9. Among them is an 8-year-old girl. Two apartment buildings and 23 cars were damaged.

Later, the prosecutor’s office reported the death of another married couple — a 65-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman. In total, the victims were 4 people.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the strike in Sumy. He expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
"Terrible tragedy, terrible Russian crime. It is very important for the world to keep up the pressure on Russia for this terror. I am grateful to all the leaders who speak out in support of Ukraine, Ukrainians," Zelenskyy said.
