In the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence, they commented on Fico’s accusations regarding involvement in the protests in Slovakia

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine accused Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico of lying. The intelligence agency stated that the government’s accusations regarding the involvement of servicemen of the "subordinate" Defence Intelligence’s Georgian National Legion in organizing protests in Slovakia with the aim of preparing for a coup have nothing to do with reality.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine also emphasized that such hybrid information operations pose an extremely serious threat to Ukraine. This was reported by the agency’s press service.

Ukrainian intelligence officers considered the allegations aimed at destabilizing the situation in European countries, spreading both within states and among European partners. The agency noted that Fico’s baseless accusations threaten Ukraine, which, with the support of the civilized world, heroically opposes Russian armed aggression.

In addition, the agency noted that there is no "Georgian National Legion" unit in its structure.

"As for the International Legion of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, it is a multinational active combat unit that directly engages in battles with Russian occupation forces on the hottest sections of the front and, of course, does not conduct any hybrid actions on the territories of EU states," the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine said in a statement.

The agency rejects false accusations of organizing illicit actions in Slovakia. The department also added that Ukrainian intelligence maintains constant contact and cooperation with colleagues from NATO countries, adheres to the principles of conscientious cooperation and partnership, and always works for the common security and overcoming challenges facing European countries due to the full-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation, including the informational part of Russian aggression.

"European politicians should be as responsible as possible for their words, especially regarding accusations against friendly countries, to give no grounds for hostile propaganda. We note that it is Russia that constantly attempts to sow discord between the countries of the Free World, discredits European politicians, intervenes in democratic elections, organizes street lawlessness, and also carries out political assassinations on the territory of Europe," the agency stated.
