Although the Russians currently hold most of Toretsk, their position there leaves much to be desired.

This was reported by journalist and military observer Vasyl Pekhno on the YouTube channel FN.

On the Eastern front, the occupiers are stuck in cities like Toretsk and Chasiv Yar. These settlements, along with Pokrovsk, are the main focal points of the Russian army today.

The journalist added that in Toretsk, the enemy is bogged down in urban battles. Even though they have advanced in the area of the "Toretsk" mine and are attempting to break through the Zabalka area, closer to the "Central" mine, several spoil tips in the city are still not under Russian control.

"The Russians are trying to break through and take a dominant position in Toretsk. But although most of the city is under their control, Toretsk has become a large gray or black hole where the occupiers are suffering significant losses," Pekhno noted. According to the analyst, the enemy is stuck in urban battles for Toretsk for a long time.

"Why is the enemy trying to capture this city? What’s the logic? The thing is, the T0516 road passes through the city, providing a direct route to Kostyantynivka," the journalist explained.

This road has long been under Russian fire control, but so far without their physical presence, Pekhno clarified.
