Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, criticized the members of parliament for their frequent trips abroad, particularly to the USA for the Prayer Breakfast.

Zelenskyy made the statement while speaking with media representatives alongside EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.

"Regarding our parliamentarians, it is important for us to hear the voice of each branch of power, but I would like these branches to be at their workplaces. That is, to hear someone’s voice, you need to have someone to communicate with. I constantly look like a person who seemingly prevents our parliamentarians from being on constant business trips. Today we have the Prayer Breakfast in the United States of America. It is very important when about half of the Parliament of Ukraine attends this breakfast, rather than being in Kherson, not in Kharkiv region, not in Zaporizhzhya, not in Sumy."

Zelenskyy emphasized that the issue is not with the United States, but with the "constant business trips of the members of parliament, who should work ’for the people who elected them.’

When asked if he is satisfied with the work of the parliament, Zelenskyy replied: "I am very satisfied with the work of the parliament, but, unfortunately, the parliament does not work every day."
