In Lviv, another hearing has begun regarding the defendant accused of the murder of Iryna Farion

On Thursday, February 13, a hearing began in the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv in the case of the murder of Iryna Farion. Vyacheslav Zinchenko arrived at the courtroom in a bulletproof vest and helmet since during the previous session, his lawyer requested enhanced security for the defendant.

This was reported from the courtroom by a correspondent of Suspilne.

The hearing started at 10:30. Vyacheslav Zinchenko submitted a request to be held alone in a cell at the pre-trial detention center. He explained that other suspects smoke, and he feels uncomfortable. Lawyer Ihor Sulyma confirmed Zinchenko’s words and asked the court to satisfy the request, arguing that Vyacheslav Zinchenko was involved in sports and never smoked.

The prosecutor explained that solitary confinement is usually for individuals who have committed some violations. Therefore, he is against satisfying the request. The lawyer of Iryna Farion’s daughter also opposed this.

In addition, another request was submitted to the court — Vyacheslav Zinchenko is asking the court to allow him to call his father. The prosecutor noted that communication with his father might harm further interrogation, as his father is planned to be questioned as a witness. This position was supported by the lawyer of Iryna Farion’s daughter, Nataliia Romanyk.

Vyacheslav Zinchenko is allowed to communicate with his mother by phone. He received such permission after the completion of the pre-trial investigation.
