Firefighting efforts continue on smoldering spots at the Chornobyl NPP shelter

At the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the elimination of the consequences of the Russian strike on the "Shelter" object continues. As of February 19, rescuers are still extinguishing smoldering hotspots.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

Specialists are also carrying out partial dismantling of the shelter structures.

Currently, the radiation background at the ChNPP industrial site does not exceed the norm.

The situation at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant is monitored daily using UAVs with thermal imaging cameras. This allows for operational tracking of changes and air conditions.
