Coordination Headquarters: Russians did not request the exchange of Medvedchuk and are not interested in Bohuslayev

Russia has not requested the exchange of Viktor Medvedchuk. Moscow also shows no interest in the possibility of exchanging the former head of "Motor Sich," Vyacheslav Bohuslayev.

This was reported by the head of the Secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Bohdan Okhrimenko, in an interview with "Ukrinform."

"Russia has not officially requested the exchange of Medvedchuk... In unofficial negotiations, the Russian side has not officially requested him. Russia could not acknowledge its interest in Medvedchuk. It would show Putin’s weakness," he said.

According to Okhrimenko, the request for Medvedchuk’s exchange was sent through the so-called "ministry of state security of the DPR."

"And for Bohuslayev, there isn’t even that. Just so you understand their position. It indicates that Russia is doing dirty work with someone else’s hands," added the head of the Coordination Headquarters Secretariat.

The Exchange of Medvedchuk

Viktor Medvedchuk is the godfather of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the founder of the now-banned OPFL party in Ukraine. Even before the full-scale Russian invasion, he was suspected of state treason.

Until February 2022, he was under house arrest, but then escaped. The SSU detained Medvedchuk in April 2022, and in September he was exchanged for the defenders of Mariupol, including the commanders of "Azov" who defended "Azovstal."

Vyacheslav Bohuslayev is the former president of "Motor Sich," who is charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
