The Russian units are storming Basivka in the Sumy region, near the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Kursk bridgehead, reports DeepState.
"The enemy continues to attempt to penetrate Basivka between Zhuravka and Novenke. Primarily, they use infantry for this, but while initially, they moved on foot through plantings, they are now trying to enter on ATVs," reads the statement from the Ukrainian military public channel.
It is reported that the Russians manage to infiltrate the village, but they cannot hold their position as they are immediately fired upon. However, "the complexity of the situation lies in the fact that the enemy has gathered a fairly large number of infantry."
It should be noted that Basivka is one of the targets of the Russian advance across the border. It is located near the road from Sumy to Sudzha, which Russia already controls. However, the road itself still significantly involves the logistics of the abandoned Ukrainian Armed Forces’ bridgehead in the Kursk region.
