Political confrontation in Kyiv City Council: a deputy from "European Solidarity" summoned for questioning to the SSU
Viktoriya Ptashnyk says that the proceedings were allegedly opened based on a statement by her colleague from the session hall, Liliya Pashynna, with whom she recently had a conflict.
Kyiv City Council deputy from the "European Solidarity" faction, Viktoriya Ptashnyk, was summoned to the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) for questioning in a case about the seizure of state power. The crime report was allegedly filed by her colleague, Liliya Pashynna from the "Servant of the People" party. It likely involves political "disputes" between the deputies — some time ago, Ptashnyk complained about a visit she received from a lawyer working for Deputy Pashynna.
The Kyiv City Council deputy from "ES" herself explained about the summons on Facebook. She noted that the summons happened not through a formal notice but via a phone call, and she emphasized the grounds on which she was invited. It’s about a case concerning the seizure of state power — Ptashnyk is summoned as a witness.
"The complaint about the crime was filed by the servant of the people — she is also the advisor to Yermak (Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President — Ed.), Ms. Pashynna. In her opinion, the crime, provided by Article 109 of the Criminal Code, was committed by deputies and officials of the Kyiv City Council. It’s just curious, Ms. Pashynna is not at all concerned with deputies from the banned OPFL party and calmly sits next to them in the Kyiv City Council," Viktoriya Ptashnyk noted in her post.
A few months ago, another incident took place in the relations between the deputies. Then an assistant of Liliya Pashynna came to a reception held by Viktoriya Ptashnyk. At the time, the deputy interpreted this step as an attempt to disrupt her activities. Now she believes that it is related to one of the votings that took place in the Kyiv City Council.
"They say they are interested in some vote at the commission, of which I am a member. Local council deputies, in her opinion, probably can seize state power by a decision of the Kyiv City Council," she remarked, answering questions about the nature of the inquiries from her political party colleague from the Verkhovna Rada, Viktoriya Syumar, under the post.
Additionally, in her post, Ptashnyk mentioned that distracting the SBU with "fake" crime reports is unacceptable. Moreover, the relevant article — about knowingly false crime reporting — is in the Criminal Code.
